Cooling Tower Selection Guide

The information we need to size a cooling tower or evaporative condenser.

Selection tool

Find a model

Enter your water flow and conditions to see matching open cooling tower models from our model tables. Know your flow or your heat load; either works. This is a preliminary reference, and a Huake engineer confirms the final selection.

Results appear here.

Based on the Huake open cooling tower model tables (standard conditions shown in the table notes). For closed cooling towers, evaporative condensers and air coolers, send your design conditions through Get a Quote.

Inputs

Information needed for selection

01

Heat load

Cooling capacity or water flow rate.

02

Temperatures

Inlet and outlet water temperature.

03

Climate

Design wet-bulb temperature at the site.

04

Water

Water quality and make-up source.

05

Site

Noise requirement and installation space.

06

Materials

FRP, 304 or 316 stainless steel.

Comparison

Open vs. closed circuit

Open circuit tower

Water is cooled directly by air. Lowest first cost; process water is exposed to air and needs treatment.

Closed circuit tower

Process fluid stays in a sealed coil. Protects equipment, reduces water treatment and suits dirty environments.
